Anonymous asked: what is your most favorite Marukami book and why? thank you =)

South of the Border, West of the Sun. I’ve felt like Hajime at times (even though I’m female so maybe we have different perspectives) and I get the whole thing of past love and feeling discontent with the present. I don’t feel like I did when I first read it but now I appreciate it as simply a beautiful story with beautiful writing.

I love pretty much everything he writes and different books call to me at different times but South of the Border, West of the Sun is the one I always go back to.
